Tỏi bóc vỏ rồi băm nhỏ, ớt băm nhỏ. Cho 1 muỗng canh nước mắm, 1 muỗng canh đường, 30ml giấm gạo, 60ml nước, 1 chút bột bắp, tỏi và ớt băm vào nồi và khuấy đều cho hòa tan. Bật bếp đun sôi hỗn hợp nước mắm là tắt bếp, đổ ra bát để cho nguội mới sử dụng, vậy là chúng ta được hỗn hợp nước mắm hơi sền sệt.
Lấy từng lát dưa cuộn lại thành hình tròn, bày ra đĩa sao cho đẹp mắt. Khi hỗn hợp nước mắm đã nguội thì rưới đều lên đĩa dưa leo, vậy là món salad dưa leo đã hoàn thành.
