BABYBJORN Potty Chair, Gray

  • Comfortable for your child; ergonomic design with soft lines
  • Sturdy construction; high backrest and comfy armrests
  • Easy to clean; inner potty seat is easy to lift out, empty and clean
  • Splashguard prevents spills
  • Material: The potty chair is made from polypropylene (PP) and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE)

We love it! Here is why : - Smooth high quality plastic (vs Lil Lou Potty). I mean it is really beautiful and shinny. It is also hard and does not bend like some cheep ones. - Not too small and not too big (vs Lil Lou that is huge even for our 18 month's old big and round bottom). - It has a very ergonomic shape. We tested a couple of others and they were not comfortable to sit on. This fits the little bottom "like a glove" ;) - It has a back support that is great for lounging in the potty. Our little one uses it as a fun chair to sit on because she is so comfortable in it. - Easy to clean and easy to see if there is any job done inside. - It has a rubber base so it is stable on the floor. - It has no sounds or lights. Great! We do not need to turn it into a toy. It already has two parts that baby likes to take apart. And when the job is done, we cheer her with clapping and our own voices vs silly music. This way the baby is more focussed on the "job" and not on the music and effects. - Price for a turquoise color was great. It is only not turquoise but a ligh blue color. But it does not matter. It fits both girls and boys.

In all honestly, haven’t tried any others but this is the gold standard. I own FIVE of these bad boys. Sturdy, non-skid, non-tip, non-whatever-shenanigans-your-toddler-dreams-up (like trying to zoom across the bathroom floor while sitting on it AFTER HE HAS POOPED). Easy to clean especially if you line it with a sheet of toilet paper and water before number twos. The splash guard is nice (once they master pointing down). I’ve never even wanted to test drive another kind. When you’re ready for portability, go with the OXO Tot 2-in-1 Travel potty. The version of the Baby Bjorn with the low back is way too bulky to lug around and doesn’t offer the same back support.

This is my second potty, for the upstairs bathroom. Now that the toddler is potty training in earnest, we need one of these close at hand. The design of this potty is impeccable. No secret spaces to accumulate grime, and no music or other stuff to distract her/annoy me. The bin is easily removed, tipped into the toilet, rinsed with soapy water, and plopped back in place in no time. My toddler was on the small side when she started using this (22 lbs), but this potty has grown with her and will continue to fit until she is using the big potty.

This is a really nice chair but would be more appropriate for a 3-4 year old, it is much too high off the ground for my 18 month old who is 36 1/2'' tall. All the reviews said the Babybjorn Smart Potty was too short so I purchased this one, but had to go back and order the Smart Potty. It's important for him to be able to sit down and get up by himself and he is not able to do that with this chair. It is super easy to clean, and the splash guard works really well. He actually likes the potty he just can't use it without my help getting seated far enough back to not make a mess and then get up again.

After going through the potty learning process with 4 kiddos, I've got a handle on it. Wipe, Flush, Wash is easy to say, tough to get down pat. This is my 3rd potty seat. My first was a gift, handmade from wood with a slide in insert that was a huge pain to remove without smearing you know what everywhere. It was pretty, but not practical. The second was a cute little Fisherprice one with a fancy electric sound of flushing when you pressed the "silver" handle. The silver quickly wore off and all the cracks and crevices were impossible to clean. When bubs #4 was ready, I was looking for a new seat. One that was portable, easy to use, and most importantly, easy to clean. With all those small parts and tight corners, some pottys really lose their shine after a while, both figuratively and literally. After some research, I decided to purchase this one. I can honestly say that it is the only potty I love. :) Simple, portable design, bright, fun colors, and a comfortable, easy-to-clean seat certainly do make this the best potty EVER! The BabyBjorn is easy to clean, and it's contoured seat is the most comfortable I've seen. (Honestly, getting a potty learner to sit on something with a hole in the bottom is hard enough, why make the seat uncomfortable?) The side handles help them to "aim" their behind better, and the insert easily lifts out for dumping and detailed cleaning, and their are no corners, anywhere, for dirt to hide in. It's made of extremely durable plastic AND has a non-skid base on the bottom so it doesn't slip when your kiddo sits down. One word of caution: Although it is difficult for the insert to be placed incorrectly in the base, it is possible. When this happens your little one's bum may get pinched. This has only happened once in our 2 years of using this potty. Generally it falls into place easily. Buy it. You will not regret it. This potty chair was our favorite, the area to sit and still have enough room for the boys to pee without making a huge mess. Plus the pee guard worked perfectly. I had bought a different one before getting this one and the pee guard sucked, after getting this one, I realized how much the frog potty chair was no good. This Babybjorn potty chair went everywhere with us, and plus it was super clean to grab and wash out without touching anything yucky. Even cleaning out the poop, it was still very easy to wash out, or dump into the toilet, then cleaned out. Take it from this mommy, you will want to buy this potty chair and no other.. let your child do their business then be done with it. Plus if you need help with the whole potty training check out the book called "Oh Crap! Potty Training" it will become your go to book.. and very helpful, plus she highly recommends this potty chair too! You can get it on Amazon as well. :)

We searched and searched and read many reviews before deciding on this potty chair. I'm so glad that we did because it worked great. We had no issues with containing my son's pee and he never peed over the little guard on the front. It was super easy for him to get on and off. It is easy to move from room to room or take out with you. And it is very easy to clean. Ours still looks brand new so it is packed away for baby boy #2 to use.

Gives my daughter more independence to take care of her own needs, the little arms help her to sit down onto the potty chair without assistance, and she holds onto the front splash guard to help her aim her urine into the toilet. It's a good height for her to successfully poop into it as well (not too tall). It's easy to clean and and it's stable; no worrying about it tipping over and urine going all over the place. The basin is large enough to hold a lot of urine if your little one is a camel and lets out a lot at once. I would highly recommend! My daughter likes to help empty the basin into the toilet and then flush it down, and the splash guard has a deep lip underneath it so I can have a sturdy grip to hold it steady as she proudly helps me carry it to the toilet. We use this one for our "at home" potty chair, and the Summer Infant one (link below) for the "travel" potty chair we keep in the back of the car. We prefer the Summer Infant one for in the car because the seat lifts up to remove the basin, so when we put the little disposable potty chair liners (essentially mini garbage bags with a thick paper towel in the bottom) into the basin, she's not directly sitting on the plastic of the bag so it's more comfortable and less distracting, which helps her to focus on the job at hand, putting potty into her potty chair! Plus there is storage in the back of the chair which we use to store the extra potty chair liners, and there is a fun flushing sound when she "flushes" the toilet. Summer Infant My Size Potty

I’ve been using the potty chair since my baby was able to hold his head steady, at around 5 months. I’d always been told by my mom and mom-in-law that in India (all Asian countries, in fact) potty-training started early, at like, 3 months, but I scoffed at the idea. But when it came to dealing with a baby of my own who was constantly grunting and straining during the night from gas and constipation (both when on breastmilk alone and after starting solids at 4.5 months), I decided to give this method a try. The first time I tried it, it was in the middle of the night - baby had been unable to pass gas and was constantly squirmy and lifting his butt up as if to fart. Within about 10 minutes of sitting on it, he relieved himself. I did this every time he got overly uncomfortable (day or night), and each time he would go in under 20 mins. Then starting at around 5.5 months, it became part of baby’s daily schedule - and he now goes regularly every morning as soon as he wakes up. His feet (6+ months now) don’t touch the ground or counter, but because of the high backrest and physical support I offer, he doesn’t find sitting on the potty uncomfortable (and my baby is very vocal about expressing his displeasure). Also, if you seat baby correctly, there should be no accidents of the watery kind either. Rinse/wash baby and potty bowl afterwards, and you end up with a happy and clean baby. Once a routine is established, you will wonder why you hadn’t started earlier. It is also way more hygienic than wiping, and no more messy diaper changes and stinky diaper pails. Even though baby’s tummy is still taking time to condition itself to various solid foods, I can gladly say that he isn’t constipated anymore. Making him sit on the potty works like a charm every single time. Which is why I don’t get the whole brouhaha about potty-training being stressful for parents and children, and it being cruel to potty-train kids before the age of 18/24 months. Babies need to relieve themselves, just like adults, and if this simple contraption aids (may be the sitting position relieves pressure, I don’t know the science behind it) in doing just that and trains them in the process, I don’t see why it isn’t the norm. After all, my whole family, and everyone I know that are of my generation, learned to go starting around 3 months in exactly the same manner, and we all turned out fine - without ever experiencing any lasting physical/emotional injury or trauma. I highly recommend this to all moms. Please don’t wait around to potty-train your babies until it is too late to undo a bad habit (dealing with smeared poop in diapers is just the worst thing ever). Babies are extremely smart and adaptable, and you can train them to be independent way earlier than the new research tells you you can. I won’t claim that my baby was “potty-trained” at 5 months, but I have not had a single day go by when I haven’t had success with this product, so you can call it what you want :-)

Ok, maybe she isn't there yet, but my daughter is 18 months, and we bought this chair so she could get used to the idea. She knew it was for her immediately. She can sit on it no problem and has already used it once! Also cookie monster has been known to share the seat of honor. She loves her special chair. It is easily a success, cute purple color (her favorite). Easy to clean. Love it.
